Vercel Makes Changes to Next.js To Simplify Self-Hosting - The New Stack

The Next.js team rolled out improvements to the Next.js core and new documentation that will make it easier for frontend developers to self-host Next.js, said Vercel’s Vice President of Product Lee Robinson during the October Next.js conference in San Francisco. “We’ve had docs and examples for a while on how to self-host, but they lacked, honestly, a little bit of depth on some of the features like caching and image optimization and how to use Next when you deploy to multicontainer setups,” Robinson said. “ There [were] a lot of things you had to configure.”.
